Study, Nighttime Along Neyland

I live just moments from downtown Knoxville, Tennessee. Whenever I head out to an activity on the University of Tennessee campus or within the city, I always find myself traversing Neyland Drive, along the Tennessee River. 

From my earliest cityscape paintings inspired by Baltimore (I called Maryland home when I first began my painting career), I've been captivated by industrial subjects. This latest example of my fascination is the Buzzi Unicem concrete terminal along the river. I caught this moment following one of our dazzling summer thunderstorms, and the dramatic cloud formation set a perfect mood. 

I'm considering a larger exploration of this subject. Maybe, maybe not. We shall see.
