Skyscape No. 14 - Quest

I try to be fairly health conscious: Eat nutritiously, exercise regularly, and get enough sleep.

My one bad habit? Spying beautiful moments from the window of my truck while I hurtle along on east Tennessee roadways. And then scheming to find someplace, anyplace, where I can pull off to the side and nab a quick reference photo to spirit back to my studio. 

This latest addition to my ongoing Skyscape series was yet another example of living dangerously. I caught this moment along Alcoa Highway, south of Knoxville, following a sizzling summer day. Locals in this area pejoratively refer to this roadway as "I'll Kill Ya" highway, so you get some idea about how dangerous it is. But I just had to stop and capture the inspiration for this beautiful painting!
