Painted on location in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park near my home in east Tennessee, this is the latest addition to my ongoing series of plein air landscapes from the park.
Summertime can be challenging within the Smokies because everything is so very, very green (it's a subtropical climate zone). But with the right light and timing, a subject like this takes on a pleasing glow and attains a nice balance.
