Fault the Mind, Stir the Soul

My hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee falls within a subtropical climate zone. We often get heavy thunderstorms in the afternoon, leaving behind dramatic cloud formations by sunset. I caught this ephemeral moment during an evening stroll in Lakeshore Park and I liked the rich colors and contrasts.

The title for this piece comes from a song lyric by Canadian rock artist Robbie Robertson in his 1987 release, Somewhere Down the Crazy River. I began my college education in music. Although ear training chewed me up and spat me out, I still like to use song lyrics as inspiration for my artwork.
