This panoramic landscape from central Minnesota is part of my 2026 Jewel Tones series of paintings.
Emeralds symbolize rebirth, love, and wisdom. With these qualities in mind, I chose a panoramic vista from central Minnesota. As someone who’s originally from the upper Midwest (Wisconsin! Go, Badgers!!), I’m endlessly fascinated by the region’s low horizons and beautiful cloud formations.
I caught this moment during an early autumn morning, and I loved how the wedge of brilliant green cut across the landscape, offering a sense of renewal and timelessness.
