Great Smoky Mountains No. 12 - Quench

This is the latest addition to my ongoing series of plein air landscape paintings from the Great Smoky Mountains. I actually started this piece a year ago (!) and then put it into timeout. 

Sometimes, that happens. I lose my mojo and I need to set something aside for a while. But when I came back to this subject, it just took a little finesse in my studio and I landed on a result that I really liked. I enjoy painting water because of its energy and color. This painting's title is a reference to the cool, cascading mountain stream.
