I've always been interested in the "puzzle piece" patterns of light and dark shapes within subjects, and in my recent works I'm exploring this interest to a greater extent. With this subject from Lower Manhattan in New York City, I enjoyed the added effect of a super cool rim light on the sunlit pedestrians. I caught this moment during a mild late fall afternoon, when the steep angle of the sunlight yields dramatic and fun shadows.
