After the Storm

Painted on location in the Great Smoky Mountains during a beautiful July morning. I liked this trio of trees, and I painted this over a panel that I initially tinted with reds and earth tones to contrast with all of the summer green. You may be able to see this if you look at the close up shot of my signature - see how the reds shine from beneath the water?

I'm pleased with how this piece turned out. I think it captures the cool freshness of the river during a smoldering summer day.
