Merry Christmas, Susan!
I'd like to introduce you to your new landscape painting, "Luminous," a 24 x 36 inch oil on canvas from central Pennsylvania's Reeds Gap State Park.
I love winter. I guess it's because I grew up in southern Wisconsin, a place where the short days of December bring nightfall by about 4:15 in the afternoon. A place where the first week of January is often notoriously cold, sometimes with many days in a row when the daytime never crests zero degrees Fahrenheit.
But it's such a clarifying season. A time to rest, recharge, and see the natural world stripped down to its barest essentials.
I caught this moment along one of my favorite bends on Honey Creek in the park. Nothing beats crunching through fresh, freeze-dried snow to take in subjects like this.
"Luminous" will arrive in mid-January as soon as it's fully dry. I appreciate your patience and I hope you enjoy meeting it in-person! Merry Christmas and best wishes for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday season!
