Going to the Dogs

On a word-of-mouth basis, I occasionally paint commissioned dog portraits. If you know me, then you know that I am a dog person. Our first dog and my first studio mascot, Annie, had a huge, positive influence upon me. And today, our new studio mascot, Maple, enjoys FOUR beds in our home.

This most recent portrait is of a handsome boy named Dack, a Pit Bull Terrier who lives here in State College, and who’s very dear to his owner’s heart. A limited edition print of this portrait will be displayed at Metzger Animal Hospital in State College. Check it out the next time you’re there with your furry friend.

It’s June and the weather forecast looks splendid. I’m heading out into the field in the coming weeks and you’ll see some new plein air pieces here in the coming posts as I prepare for next month’s Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts. In the meantime, enjoy gazing into Dack’s beautiful eyes!
