A January sunset across Black Moshannon Lake in central Pennsylvania. This motif will become the basis for a larger landscape in the future.

I came across this scene during a late afternoon hike following a fresh snowfall. I credit that park visit with helping me to break a terrible case of artist’s block. It was a serene, magical evening.
