Early October in central Pennsylvania is a special time. This view, found in Whipple Dam State Park, illustrates why I enjoy living in this part of the country so much.
This state park is named after a lumber mill operator who used the lake water in this area for his operation in the late 1800s. The land was originally acquired from the Iroquois Federation in the late 1700s by the provisional Pennsylvania state government. Today, it offers a beautiful source of inspiration for my work, just minutes from my home.
