My New Book is Now Available: From My Easel: A Celebration of Pennsylvania's Black Moshannon State Park. This book features reproductions of my paintings from the past five years within the park as well as information about Black Moshannon's history and ecology. I had a solo exhibition of recent landscapes and cityscapes at Zola New World Bistro in downtown State College, Pennsylvania during the spring of 2010.
My cityscape, London Rush, was accepted into the Connecticut Pastel Society's 16th Annual National Exhibition "Renaissance in Pastel 2009." The exhibition was held at the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, Connecticut from October 2 through October 25, 2009.
My cityscape, The Downtown Line, was accepted into the Maryland Pastel Society's "Shades of Pastel Biennial National Juried Exhibition 2009." The exhibition was held at Strathmore Hall in Bethesda, Maryland from September 26, 2009 through November 7, 2009.
In July of 2009, I won the Robert and Virginia Mountz Award of Merit at the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts. Twelve merit awards are given by the jury amongst all 300 exhibitors.
In April of 2009, The Fine Arts People Gallery in Exton, Pennsylvania hosted a solo exhibition of my new landscapes and cityscapes. In addition, I judged the annual art exhibition by members of the Standing Stone Art League in Huntingdon County.
In January of 2009, my cityscape, River, Canyon, was accepted into this year's Chicago Pastel Painters National Juried Exhibition, Pastels Chicago. The exhibition was at the Koehnline Museum of Art in Des Plaines, Illinois from February 5 through March 27, 2009.
In May of 2008, the Standing Stone Art League of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania invited me to teach a one-day introduction to pastels workshop for beginning and intermediate students.
The Friends of Black Moshannon, on behalf of the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation, selected my plein air painting, "Black Moshannon No. 18 - Morning Shadows" for the new Pennsylvania Wilds Tag program. This program is designed to generate revenue and raise awareness of the more than 1.5 million acres of state forest and game lands in the Pennsylvania Wilds. Park visitors will be able to purchase these commemorative limited edition tags that depict what is unique about each state park.
