The best thing about winter is that the atmosphere clears. No haze, no humidity, nothing to interfere with the clarity of the light. In addition, with the low angle of the sun during these shorter days, there's a whole different flavor to the colors in any subject. Here, a stand of white pines in Black Moshannon State Park take on the distinctive warmth imparted by the last moments of sunlight during a January evening.
