I love the energy in "down the street" views of life in the city, especially when these vistas are punctuated by manmade lights. This piece is my interpretation of the intersection of West 48th and 7th Avenue in downtown New York City. The main inspiration here was the line of taxis as they recede into the depth of the scene....Having the façade of a famous music store in the scene was a bonus, too, since I'm not only a rabid audiophile, but also a musician from my former life (saxophone).
