We visited New York City this past December. It was cold. Very cold. But the light was extremely beautiful and we got out of town just before a significant snow storm, so it was all good.
This piece represents a new, wider format for a cityscape. I've used this format in some of my landscape pieces over the years and I really enjoy these proportions, so I thought I would try it in an urban-themed piece as well. This piece also dovetails a bit with an earlier cityscape that explored the idea of people ferrying across a city avenue, a piece called River, Canyon.
