I lived in the DC / Baltimore area for a couple of years and I still really enjoy going back to these two cities to get my "museum fix" and inspiration. This piece captures a late fall evening rush hour in downtown Washington, DC, near Pennsylvania Avenue. I was interested in the pattern of light from the cars as well as the warm / cool contrast between the foreground and the background. The snarky part of me hesitated to call this piece "Flow" because there's rarely ever anything easy-moving about DC traffic (been there, done that), but this title references the movement within the scene as well as the strong vertical pattern of light and shadow.
