18 x 24. Pastel on paper.
I grew up riding my bike along the back country roads of southern Wisconsin. If I was feeling really ambitious, I would venture over to neighboring towns such as Windsor, Sun Prairie, or even Waunakee. Even on trips of 20 miles or more, about the only real hazard that I encountered was the occasional territorial dog. Thus, I've always had a ton of admiration for urban bike couriers who brave the city each day. When I caught this view in New York city, I loved the feeling of being able to look over this bicyclist's shoulder and how it evoked the suspense of someone about to take his first step over the precipice. I like this idea of bike messengers, so watch for more of this theme in future works.
